Description:
This position is responsible for creative and timely editing of video projects, meeting timeline benchmarks and aesthetic and stylistic standards. Interfaces/collaborates with Producer, Post-Production Coordinator and Associate Editors and Graphic Artist as necessary. Does quality-enhancement finishing work to meet technical standards. The Sr. Video Editor will supervise video edit staff and freelance editors. This position will oversee the workflow of staff and freelance editors and collaborate in an effort to set high standards for digital video products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Edits video course programs using instructions from course developers, producers and others responsible for video program construction. Self-paces work, based on timeline and input from Post Coordinator, so that all deadlines are met; if deadlines are unrealistic, this is analyzed and determined early.
• Determines the need for additional media assets, based on contextual, stylistic or technical needs. and requests them of the Post Coordinator, and maintains responsibility for their inclusion in the program once received.
• When changes are requested following screenings or other collaborations, maintains responsibility for following through all requests. At a project's completion, provides technical enhancement (online editing) in order to facilitate finishing and mastering at broadcast quality.
• Utilizes artistic and creative techniques, such as effects, compositing, musical interludes, etc., to add sophistication and engagement value to the requested program assembly.
• Supervises video edit staff and freelance editors ensuring efficient work flow and set standards for high quality and innovative production values for videos.

Experience:

• Professional editing experience, preferably in corporate or educational video.
• Advanced knowledge of Final Cut Pro editing platform essential.
• Knowledge of the following software helpful: Final Cut Pro version HD, Final Cut Server, Apple Live Type, Apple Compressor, Apple DVD Studio Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5 to 8 years of experience editing and a proven ability to manage others.
