GSI's Analytics organization is currently seeking an e-commerce professional to guide their growing web analytics and reporting team in a variety of disciplines. The Director, Analytics & Reporting will have the unique opportunity to help build an analytics proficiency for the organization, providing support that satisfies the demands of GSI's executive leadership and in developing programs that aid GSI's numerous internal business teams. S/he will work strategically with the senior management of GSI Commerce and Interactive and has overall responsibility for analytics, financial and budget analyses for the Interactive Marketing Services organization. Additionally, this role will require the continued development of analytics-based, optimization service offerings, aimed at tactically and demonstrably improving our clients' online business through marketing, website and customer analytics, while creating recurring revenue streams for GSI.

The Analytics & Reporting organization is a data-driven group that strives to leverage their multitude of information to educate, enlighten and optimize. The Director, Analytics & Reporting will lead the coordination of web analytics with marketing and customer analytic to form a cohesive strategy for online retail and customer experience. While this role is data intensive, it requires the aptitude to transform the output of the analytics team into actionable recommendations that can be supported by business cases and proven successful upon implementation. This position requires the individual to be both client-facing and comfortable dealing with internal executive leadership. The nature of the role will dictate the ability to perform deep analytical dives at times but is primarily as a position of strategic leadership and team development. The candidate will supervise a staff that consists of analysts and managers and have overall responsibility for developing long/short term goals and strategic objectives for financial reporting and analytic insight. S/he is also responsible for setting priorities for any ad hoc requests generated by the senior management. In addition, the candidate will also lead a team tasked to evaluate existing procedures and other recurring activities to identify and implement common best practices (process) and tools across the interactive marketing services teams to help decrease cost or increase efficiency. This activity will also include special projects that require research, data and financial modeling, and database knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical leadership and consultation, as required, to GSI executive leadership and internal business teams
- Develop compelling and profitable Analytics service offerings
- Deliver presentations to client leads to acquire new business, convey performance of existing engagements and retain existing business.
- Direct the crafting of Statements of Work (SOW's) to support formal offerings
- Lead the construction of business cases to support internal and external proposals
- Author case studies and/or white papers to demonstrate success of initiatives, garner interest for similar engagements and to enhance GSI's position in the marketplace.
- Help position GSI's emerging Analytics & Reporting organization as a differentiator in the marketplace
- Establish strong relationships across GSI's internal departments in order to promote the Analytics & Reporting groups, as well as ensuring that analytical best-practices are followed across all areas of the company. Examples include integration with Product Management for feature development, and Usability for compound studies.
- Partner with leaders from other Analytics and data management disciplines to generate a holistic view of online businesses
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) across GSI for all issues related to marketing, customer and web analytics, site experience and optimization
- Direct a team of direct reports to efficiently achieve the responsibilities above

Required Qualifications:

- A solid understanding of financial concepts and general business analysis
- Good project management and planning skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels, clients and senior management including executive committee
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on project
- Superior business judgment with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
- Proven ability to manage and develop staff
- Extensive experience in e-commerce and retail environments
- Excellent conceptual thinking, analytical and communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal, client management and presentation skills
- Proven experience in translating analytical findings into actionable plans
- Intimate familiarity as a consumer of data with Omniture Site Catalyst Tool required, familiarity with Google Analytics and/or Coremetrics web analytics platforms a plus
- Bachelor's Degree with Masters Degree preferred

Qualifications: Strongly Preferred Skills
- MBA with 3 years of related work experience and/or 3 years of consulting experience with one of the Big Five consulting companies
- 3 years of dot com experience and retail knowledge
- Knowledge of software and statistical applications (SAS, Coremetrics, Omniture, Access, Visio)
