The Investment Services group provides a full range of investment services to large pension plans, institutional investors, foundations, endowments and investment plans of all types. These services ' which include portfolio management, transition strategies, commission management, cash management, derivatives exposures, short-term investments and agency foreign exchange ' are designed to improve investment performance and minimize the costs and risks of complex investment implementations.

This individual will be an integral member of the Portfolio Trading Services team assisting the portfolio and trading analysts with their daily responsibilities in support of the multiple product lines within Investment Services. The primary focus of the team is centered around pre and post trade activities across the multiple asset classes traded by Russell for external clients and our funds.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Assisting with the daily reconciliation of cash balances in the Russell funds.

  • Gathering of data for reconciliation via various custodian on-line systems, Bloomberg and data vendor websites.

  • Analyzing data for accuracy and working directly with brokers & custodian banks to investigate and correct differences.

  • Assisting analysts with pre and post-trade processing.

  • Completing ad-hoc requests from portfolio managers, traders and analysts.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Junior or Senior majoring in Business with a focus on IS, Finance, or equivalent.

  • Able to work approximately 15 hours per week when classes are in session with potential to increase to 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer.

  • Must be comfortable accepting assignments from a variety of people.

  • Detail oriented with an eye for quality.

  • Proactive in seeking clarification regarding deliverables and timeframes.

  • Willing to ask for help when needed.

  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel and Access.
