The Director of Patient Safety and Accreditation will provide overall leadership in support of M.D. Anderson's patient safety initiatives and accreditation requirements. Responsibilities include provision of a planned, systematic, institutional approach for identification, design, measurement, prioritization, and monitoring of patient safety initiatives. The Director will achieve and maintenance institutional readiness for The Joint Commission, CMS, and Texas Department of Health accreditation and regulatory requirements. The scope of work includes leadership, hands-on participation, and development of staff to meet the patient safety improvement and accreditation requirements for the institution. The Director will collaborate with faculty and staff throughout the institution to exceed recognized industry standards for quality and patient safety. The director will lead key department functions such as Event Review, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis, Patient Safety Tracers, and other patient safety initiatives.

Education:
Required: Master's Degree in business or health related field.
Preferred: PhD

Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in a health care environment. Experience includes demonstrated expertise in accreditation and compliance.

Licensure/Certification:
Preferred: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)and/or Current Professional Nursing License
