POSITION SUMMARY:
The Management Trainee program is an exciting opportunity for high performing graduates to gain vast knowledge and experience by learning the business on multiple levels. Trainee positions are unique in that trainees will have the chance to take a hands on approach to learning in all areas of a manufacturing plant as well as focusing within your own discipline. Trainee positions also provide opportunities in supervision and/or in projects.

This position is located in Allentown, PA for the duration of the training period of 18-24 months. Upon completion of the program, trainees are assigned to any one of the Nestle Purina PetCare plants located in the U.S. Anticipated start date for this position is January 2010 or June 2010.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Employee Relations ' Gain exposure to employee relations, H. R. administration, hiring practices, disciplinary actions, employee grievances, policy development, activities, plant communications, and performance management.
2. Safety- gain exposure to and knowledge of:
a. OSHA Regulations
b. Worker's Compensation
c. Hazard Communication
d. Safety Committee
e. Safety Audits and inspections
f. Accident investigations/counseling
g. Safety campaigns/promotions
h. Safety training, PEO
3. Recruiting ' Gain knowledge and experience in the area of recruitment and selection process to include professional, college and production. Participation on the College Recruiting Team for the Manufacturing Division of NPPC including Career Fairs,
Campus Recruiting, and plant visits.
4. Training ' Gain experience in the development, organization, and implementation of training programs that meet Davenport's goals and legal requirements/Conduct new employee orientations, assist new hires in plant training and provide mentor assistance for new trainees. Work on Job Evaluations, J.I.T.s, and wage surveys.
5. Compensation/Benefits ' Gain working knowledge of benefit and compensation plans and become proficient at communicating plan information to employees.

LOCATION:
Part of Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, Allentown is 60 miles north of Philadelphia and 90 miles west of New York City. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
* Must have a min. of a 2.5 GPA.
* Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required.
* Must be willing to relocate to any Nestle Purina plant upon completion of program.

Experience:
* Coop or practical experience is desirable.

Skills:
Need excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Entry level position.
