A tailored career track program of approximately 36-48 months designed to accelerate the development and promotion of highly qualified sales professionals for advancement within Nestlé USA, Nestlé Retail Operations Center (NROC), Nestlé Nutrition, Chilled Beverage and Nestlé Purina PetCare (NPPC). The Nestlé Sales Development Program (NSDP) provides the trainee with the experience and knowledge necessary to help them become a leader in the World's Largest Food and Beverage Company. The program is designed to become familiar with Nestlé's comprehensive brand portfolio and key customers, in order to prepare for a future role as a Business Analyst, Junior Account Manager, Strategic Category Selling Analyst, Customer Development Account Manager, Retail Sales Manager or other developmental position. This will include selling Nestlé USA, Nestlé Purina PetCare and Gerber line of products to independent retail grocery stores and smaller direct buying accounts. Activities will center on selling new item introductions, marketing promotions, line extensions, merchandising and maintenance of existing product lines. NSDPs must relocate to a new city throughout the country and will be given a sales territory to manage. Future career opportunities may include working in a variety of locations including the Nestlé USA headquarters in Glendale, California.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
A. Store Sales
1. Assumes complete responsibility for store activity and development within a territory.
2. Executes promotionally effective marketing and sales programs at store level.
3. Establishes and achieves retail sales goals and objectives for territory.
4. Increases store sales volume within territory.
5. Suggest creative sales and marketing concepts to Management.
6. Develop relationships with account store personnel.
B. Store Distribution
1. Ensures that authorized distributions are present within assigned retail accounts.
2. Capitalizes on retail distribution opportunities at store level.
3. Communicates competitive distribution gains and losses.
C. Store Pricing
1. Ensures that pricing guidelines are met at retail level.
2. Check that the current scanning prices reflect current promotional allowances and zone pricing.
3. Reports competitive price changes and promotional support.
D. Store Merchandising
1. Implements and achieves corporate merchandizing objectives at all assigned independent accounts.
2. Obtains maximum display support at all assigned retail accounts.
3. Uses POS material to support the movement of all products.
E. Headquarters/Direct Calls (Groups)
1. Develops sales plans and strategies for accounts that are in concert with divisional and regional objectives.
2. Stays within pre-established promotional and financial guidelines.
3. Responsible for adequate and timely sales forecasts for assigned account(s).
4. Presents sales and marketing programs to appropriate account personnel
F. Sales Administration
1. Provide useful and timely service to accounts.
2. Handle customer and consumer complaints in accordance with policies.
3. Submit and maintain proper customer records, sales, activities and other required reports and forms.
4. Develops proper relations and rapport with customers within territory.
5. Maintains proper territory coverage of all assigned accounts within territory.
6. Maintains, organizes and updates all sales materials for effective utilization.
7. Pick up unsaleable products according to company policies.
G. Special Projects/Quarterly Reporting
1. Complete special projects as assigned, such as store incentive proposals, account management improvements, etc.
2. Prepare quarterly progress reports and/or presentations to management as required.
3. Successfully complete in-house training and development programs as outlined in NSDP training curriculum.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* BA degree
WORK EXPERIENCE:
* High interest in sales
* History of good work performance
* Successful completion of a background check, drug screen and final transcript/copy of college diploma
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
* High interest in sales
* Valid Drivers License
* U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Visa
* Must be authorized to work in the United States and employer will not sponsor work authorization
* Some overnight travel required ' 1 or 2 nights per month on average
* Varied work week, may include evenings and/or weekends
* Ability to lift and carry 55 pounds
* Certification on customer technology where applicable
