Purpose of Position:

The Sr. Business Analyst is an empowered team member and leader, knowledgeable in the business, who deploys best practices to facilitate the elicitation, organization and documentation of business requirements, working with members of assigned MULTIPLAN business units. Ensure that the project team develops solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimizes requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables on projects that are complex and not always clearly defined.

Essential Functions:

Actively solicits, analyzes and negotiates customer requirements in order to ensure that the project team can develop solutions that meet the customer's real needs; minimize requirement defects up front, establish and maintain agreement between the customer and project team on requirements for the project deliverables.

Works independently on projects that may not be clearly defined and are large in scope.

Manages multiple priorities, customer expectations and relationships with all stakeholders including IST staff and business staff. Manages relationships with customers, project managers, and any/all levels of management.

Meets and works with project business sponsors, software end-users, applications development staff, and others as necessary to perform assignments.

Assists with project planning, including methods, processes, tasks, schedules.

Supports customer in training efforts for end users and staff members.

Demonstrates knowledge in business/process being supported. Gains recognition by business as 'expert' in their business processes.

Qualifications:

BS/BA

Graduate level degree a plus

5 to 7 years prior experience as a BA.

Experienced in the healthcare business area a plus

Good interpersonal and communications skills.

Excellent writing skills.

Good negotiation skills.

Experience with documented software development methodology and understanding of all stages of project life cycle a plus.
