Title: Laboratory Information Systems Analyst III*
Division: Information Technology

Schedule: 8:30AM-5:00PM

Systems analyst with established functional and technical expertise in laboratory information systems. Highly skilled in all phases of system analysis, design, validation and implementation with demonstrated proficiency in systems integration and configuration management. Comprehends the business, clinical and technical aspects of complex lab-related system projects and formulates and documents the scope, objectives, functional design and technical architecture for LIS solutions. Maintains and supports integral system processes including online functions, application and instrument interfaces and batch production. Interacts with vendors, users and other LIS stake holders. Reports to the LIS Manager.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration or other relevant discipline or equivalent education, training and experience.

Required Skills and Experience: Knowledge and acute understanding of laboratory applications and interfaces, as demonstrated by at least five years progressively responsible experience in large-scale laboratory information systems. Expertise in LIS support, maintenance and configuration, with the ability to manage complex LIS-related projects. Excellent interpersonal and effective communications skills are necessary.

Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with SCC SoftLab is essential. Training and experience as a laboratory technician is highly desirable. Proficiency with other software applications, including MS Access, SQL and ODBC would be beneficial.
