SCIENTIFIC ADMINISTRATOR, Laboratory for Nuclear Science, to join a research group that is currently leading an international collaboration of universities building a scientific detector for deployment on the International Space Station. The present phase of the work is ongoing at the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. Will carry out physics and organizational responsibilities including participation in data taking and detector monitoring, accounts monitoring, maintaining communications with appropriate offices at CERN and MIT, as well as other duties in support of the efficient running of the MIT team.

REQUIREMENTS: a minimum of a Ph.D. in physics. Necessary skills include an interest in experimental physics, proficiency with computers, effective communication skills in English, and proficiency in French. Must be able to function well under time pressure in a highly technical environment. MIT-00004939

Should be able to travel on short notice to Europe, the U.S., and Asia and spend various durations of time at CERN, MIT, and the Kennedy and Johnson Space Centers.

Must be a U.S. citizen.
