Job Summary:

The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the daily operations and maintenance of the IT Infrastructure, and planning for its upgrades and future evolution. Responsible for ensuring that system achieves a high level of performance and reliability and downtime of the network is minimal.

Responsibilities:

' Manage small IT team to maintain and support Dulles and Chicago sites.
' Perform proactive network and system monitoring.
' Perform preventative maintenance including system patches/upgrades for Servers and Workstations.
' Build IT Budget portion of Operations Budget and manages the IT budget.
' Provide timely updates to Operations Manager and appropriate management personnel regarding network and system faults.
' Oversee the set up, installation, configuration of new user systems.
' Verify successful completion of system wide backups, routine disk cleanup, and restore procedures.
' Maintain configuration files & scripts, installs, patches, firmware flashes, LAN administration, network backup, manage user accounts, & group policy objects.
' Manage Windows Active Directory domain controllers.
' Use system-monitor tools to determine, diagnose, & resolve problems.
' Represent business unit on the ITT IIW IT Council and coordinate all future draft policies with business units management.

Knowledge/ Skills:
' Hands-on experience with computer network administration, including firewall, router and application server configuration.
' Knowledge of internet services and network architectures. (e.g. DMZ, SMTP, HTTP, DNS, etc)
' Knowledge of network services and options for service delivery from major internet service providers.(e.g., ATM, MPLS, ISDN, etc.)
' Experience installing and configuring application software in a highly distributed and heterogeneous client/server environment.
' Knowledge of backup/recovery methods, export/import and data migration procedures, applications, database and web server software installation.
' Detailed knowledge of the installation, configuration and performance tuning of the Windows operating system environment. Networking TCP/IP, DNS Network services support and scripting
' Mass storage and disk array experience as well as demonstrated experience and proficiency with other storage disk array configuration and implementations for SANs, will be considered
' Experience with load balancing, fail-over, I/O, performance tuning and Enterprise Server level backup software and hardware experience is recommended

Experience Requirements:

' Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and related experience.
' Seven years of related experience providing end-user support (installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing computers in a network environment) for current PC laptop/desktop hardware and application software.
' 5+ years experience with Microsoft Windows as a server platform.
' Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
' Demonstrate proficiency in WINDOWS 2000/2003 and/or Exchange 2000/2003.
' Must be dependable and able to work unsupervised.
' Must possess a strong attention to detail.
' Experience in the following technologies:
o Windows Server 2003
o Windows XP Professional
o Cisco Router/ASA/Wireless Products
o Acronis Imaging Suite
o McAfee and Symantec Corporate Antivirus Suite
o Sharepoint Portal Services
o Tadiran PBX System
' Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel.
' MCP and A+ Certifications are a plus.
