Title: Engineer 2 / Information Assurance Engineer

Candidate will have technical responsibility for managing day to day operations, maintenance and interoperability of several Naval Excepted Networks Information Assurance(IA) Cyber Network Defense (CND) suite. In addition, the candidate will be expected to fill in for personnel on site or manage equipment remotely.
The duties include maintenance, installation and configuration of software patches and troubleshooting system problems and other similar duties as required. The candidate will also be responsible for implementation of access control list changes, and documenting systems and networks connected through the IA suite. The candidate may be required to respond to trouble tickets and change requests while interacting with multiple customer organizations, and will be responsible for reporting completion of trouble tickets and/change requests up the government chain of command.
Duties will include firewall administration, router administration and operations of anti-virus, and other IA related systems.
Approximately 5% travel required.

Experience Requirements:
Equivalent Education Level: Requires B.S. degree in Information Technology, or related scientific fields.
Experience Required:
Ideally 4+ years in network operations with an emphasis on Unix/Linux system administration, firewall maintenance and troubleshooting; BIND (DNS), TCP/IP and security protocols preferred.
Router administration and W2K/W2K3 server administration also
desired. Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Experience in information assurance operations also required, including use of Retina scanning tools.
Experience with HBSS/SCVVI/SCRI extremely desirable.
Knowledge Required:
Experience with configuring/troubleshooting G2 Sidewinder firewalls required. Familiarity with CISCO routers, Netscreen VPNs, Linux/Unix DNS servers, Loglogic desired. Familiarity with DoD uTnP policy and DoD IAVM process desired. Knowledge of other IA tools and process, such as eEye Retina SCVVI, HBSS, SCRI desired.
Candidate must have, or obtain Unix/ Linux, W2K3 and/or Cisco
certifications within 6 months of employment.
Information Assurance (IA)certification highly desired; CompTIA Security+ required at minimum within 6 months of employment.
Successful candidate will have completed a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
