Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the functional and program leadership of system engineering, hardware engineering and software engineering organization on a program. Specific responsibilities include process review and execution, technical training, technical standards definition and compliance, project staffing and providing overall technical leadership while ensuring engineering excellence.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Works in collaboration with Program senior staff, the Government Customer, site support staff, and others to successfully execute base operations support .
2. Provides advice to the PM and DPM on all engineering-related activities.
3. Supports the PM''s organizational goals.
4. Ensures full compliance with the Systems Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) for all project-related work.
5. Optimizes product standardization and strict Configuration Management.
6. Strong professional traits required including customer interface, financial management as well as planning, direction, control and coordination of multiple engineering activities.
7. Should possess a good understanding of engineering processes and System Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model, Integrated.
8. Should be able to manage hardware/software/firmware designs, integration, analysis, modification, test, diagnosis, demonstrations, and review for hardware/software systems, subsystems, and components.
9. Should possess experience in developing system requirements and design for new systems.
10. Should be capable of planning and scheduling of engineering activities for highly complex tasks.
11. Should be capable of the effective utilization of highly skilled professional individuals.
12. Should be able to think logically and devise original solutions to complex management problems.
13. Should be able to apply management skills across broad spectrum of engineering problems from routine to highly complex.
14. Encourages Lean and Six Sigma project implementation.

Experience Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in engineering, management, computer science or other technical discipline with a minimum 6 to 12 yrs. experience; Master of Science with minimum 4-8 yrs total experience.
