Position Summary: The position of Supply Manager requires vast knowledge of Retail and Wholesale operations including acquisition, receipt processing, and distribution of materiel and equipment to support the war fighter on time and all the time. Interface with the National Control Inventory Item Managers is required to ensure required classes of supplies such as Class I, II, III (packaged and bulk), IV, V, VII, VIII, and IX are available whether at the Installation Supply Support Activity or the Depot Storage Area depending on the environment under which the logistics operations are performed. Knowledge and experience with some of Standard Army Management Information Systems such as the Standard Army Retail Supply System (SARSS-1), Automated Manifest System (AMS), Unit Level Logistics Systems (ULLS-S4 and ULLS-Ground), Standard Depot System (SDS), Army Material Command Information System (AMCIS), and the Army War Reserve deployment System (AWRDS) among others. Knowledge of financial requirements such as budgeting for labor and material to operate within the constraints of the budget by exercising cost control while improving productivity and quality. The Supply Manager must posse's knowledge of human resources requirements to be able to recruit, trains, and maintain an empowered workforce while decreasing the personnel turbulence.
Major Job Activities:
Several of the major activities/responsibilities required are identified below, but it is not all inclusive.
- Maintain visibility and accountability of the property assigned to the Project including rolling and non-rolling stock.
- Manage the stock record account at the retail level to include generating Requisition Objective (RO), Reorder-Point (RO), and Safety levels (SL); compute Order Ship Time (OST); and monitor zero balance lines to achieve the standard required by the activity.
- Responsible for Inventory Management including performing demand analysis in order to adjust Requisition Objective; conduct location surveys to ensure locations are accurate; conduct inventories including scheduled such as annual and special inventories as directed by the Accountable officer; and monitor turn-ins, and replenishment requirements.
- Interface with supported activities (internal customers) to identify problems and provide support as required.
- Review logistics reports including those from maintenance activities to speedup the delivery of repair parts and assemblies to reduce the number of dead-lined rolling stock.
- Query AWRDS and SDS to determine the status of requisitions and equipment to support the war fighter.
- Manage and maintain the containers used for shipment and storage including linkage to equipment and supplies been stored.
- Coordinate with Transportation for the movement of containers to SPOD or APOD as applicable.
- Develop internal quality program to achieve required standards and objectives.
- Develop plans and timelines to perform major tasks and requirements.
- Manage Basic Issue Items and Sets, Kits, and Outfits.
- Develop and conduct training programs to increase the skill levels of the workforce.
- Develop or generate accurate personnel and equipment status to support the project.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate plans, procedures, and standards, and
- Conduct briefings for Government personnel project visitors.
Working Environment: Required tasks may be performed indoors or outdoors under changing and extreme climatic conditions. The use of Personal Protective Equipment may be required because work may be associated or around military equipment. Compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Fire regulations may be required.
Experience Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: BA degree or equivalent.
Experience: Six or more years of experience in logistics operations is a plus because of the fast pace of most operations in support of the war fighter.
Security Clearance: May be required.
