Thank you for your interest in L'Oréal. You have taken the first step to applying for a summer internship with us. Below you will find the instructions regarding the process, the application questions to be completed and the registration requirements. Be sure to read them in their entirety. Event Description:
A Taste of L'Oréal MBA is a unique recruitment weekend event for 1st year MBA's interested in a career in Brand Management. Over the course of the weekend you will have the chance to meet with senior marketing executives, participate in a brand management workshop, network with Human Resources and marketing professionals, and interview for a position in our 2010 summer internship program.
Application Process and Timeline:
- Registration Deadline is Monday, November 30th at twelve midnight.
- All applications will be reviewed and all students will be notified by December 21st of a decision.
- To be considered, you must be able to commit to and be available all day Friday, January 22nd through Sunday, January 24th for the events and travel.

When completing the application you have the opportunity to express an interest in one of L'Oréal's divisions for which you would like to be considered. A brief description of each division is provided below.
Professional Products Division:
Encompasses a Division with a diversified and elite portfolio of professional Brands which includes: Redken; Matrix; Kérastase; L'Oréal Professionnel; Mizani; Pureology; L'Oréal Technique, and Shu Uemura: Art of Hair. Requires a passion for beauty and interest in engaging and supporting hairdressers and salon owners. High focus and attention to education and customer service as well as a business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit to maintain the Division's position as Industry leaders in haircare, haircolor and hair styling in both the US and Global markets. Professional Products marketers are resourceful and dynamic leaders with sensitivity to the world of style and design and a propensity for creativity and analytical problem-solving.
Luxury Products Division:
Encompasses a Division with a diversified high-end brand portfolio which includes: Lancôme, shu uemura, Kiehl's, the fragrances and cosmetics of Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Viktor and Rolf and other European Fragrance Designers. Requires the ability to embody a brand and communicate the dream an interest in understanding current and prestigious retail channels with at-counter sales professionals as well as innovative and emerging channels of distribution. An acute attention to details, an unwavering long-term vision, business, management and negotiation skills and a comprehensive vision of marketing are necessary to maintain the Division's leading position in both the US and Global markets. Luxury Products marketers have a discerning eye and a long lasting persistency and visionary leaders with sensitivity to the world of high culture and the arts.
Consumer Products Division:
With our mission to offer high-technology products to the greatest number of consumers at affordable prices, the Consumer Products Division seeks talented individuals with a passion for beauty and an understanding of the needs and drivers for consumers who shop through mass distribution channels: Mass (e.g. Walmart, Target), Drug (e.g. CVS, Walgreens), and Food (e.g. Kroger, Safeway, Meijer). Marketing professionals in this division are ambitious, driven and have impactful communication skills. They should have an aptitude for market data and analysis tools and the ability to summarize large amounts of data to create a vision and achieve business results. The Consumer Products Division provides opportunities to work in beauty categories including Cosmetics, Hair Care, Hair Color and Skin Care within our four brands: SoftSheen Carson, L'Oreal Paris, Maybelline and Garnier.

- The beauty market is fast-paced, intensive, highly competitive and ever-changing. How would you approach diving into this dynamic category quickly? What are the most important aspects of the market/consumer/brand that you would seek to understand first? How would you navigate your way to build your foundation of knowledge in this new environment? (150 words max):
- Marketing a new innovation product usually gains much attention in the marketplace however existing products are the foundation for long-term sustainable growth. What are the keys to success for marketing existing products? Or give an example of a brand that is built on this, what are their keys to success. (150 words max):
- Give an example of a product, other than a L'Oréal product, that you believe addresses a key consumer insight or need, and then give specifics about how the elements of the product address that need successfully (packaging, pricing, usage, advertising/communication strategy, etc). Requirements:
- Enrolled as a full time 1st year MBA student in the US
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- 3+ years of business related work experience
- Must be creative and have excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills are a must
- Must have a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic, challenging environment
- Possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Foreign language skills are a plus
- Geographical flexibility and openness to international assignments are highly desired
- Must be a U.S. citizen or already authorized to be legally employed on an ongoing basis in the United States based on visa or immigration status
