Title: Simulator Instructor

PPL is seeking a Simulator Instructor for the PPL Susquehanna, LLC plant near Berwick, Pennsylvania. This position requires the instructor to analyze, develop, maintain, and implement training programs for personnel working at Susquehanna Steam Electric Station to contribute to the safe, efficient operation of the plant; and in conformance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Responsibilities:
--Analyze, design, develop, teach, and evaluate licensed and Plant Operator, plant certification, and Shift Technical Advisor training programs.
--Maintain the Operations Training programs in accordance with the NRC requirements and INPO accreditation process.
--Develop and administer course examinations.
--Serve as a member of the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization.
--Obtain and maintain formal Instructor Certification.
--Maintain technical qualifications through participation in selected portions of the Licensed Requalification Program.
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.
Basic Qualifications:
--Minimum of five years of nuclear power plant experience required.
--Must meet education requirements for licensing as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO), in accordance with ACAD 00-003, Rev.1 Section 2.2.
--Demonstrated competency in boiling water reactor (BWR) nuclear power operations through attainment of either:
-BWR SRO license
-BWR SRO certification
Other Qualifications:
--Previous experience as an instructor is desired.
--In addition to technical skills, must have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
--Demonstrated computer skills in commonly-used business and training programs is required.
--Must be able to meet the security clearance requirements for site access at a commercial nuclear power plant.
